Lana Read chats with AAG Featured Talent GREG STEELE
Actor Greg Steele sat down with Active Artists Group agent Lana Read to share his past experiences, opinions and future plans as an entertainer!
AAG: What/Whom is your inspiration for acting/theatre?
GREG: My biggest inspiration comes from how a movie makes people feel personally. That’s what makes them into classics. It always amazes me how movies can suspend an actor in time from when they filmed it. Images of the characters they play are preserved in our minds and they stay that way until we’re shocked when we see them on Dancing with the Stars and they’re 80 years old.
AAG: What has been your favorite project to date? Why?
GREG: Each project I’ve been involved has been an unique experience. Meeting new people, making new friends while constantly learning something new are in every project.
I’m a professional comedian so my favorite project so far is a comedy web series that I’ve been working on called Breast Friends. It’s a comedy about aliens and talking boobs. Sorry, it is only rated PG13. It’s one of my first principle comedy roles. I get a chance to do what I naturally do. Act goofy. Actually I play the straight man and it’s been a blast! We’re shooting the final episode now and post has already begun. It’s a fun story, a great cast and it should be hilarious.
AAG: What is your dream role? Why?
GREG: I’m not picky. I would like to be cast for a supporting role in a comedy directed by Ron Howard. Hosting SNL would be a close second.
AAG: Who would you like to perform with, in a film/on stage? Why?
GREG: Tom Hanks. I would like to give him a few pointers.
AAG: Tell us something about you that nobody knows?
GREG: I played the role of Ronald McDonald for 12 years. Seriously!
AAG: Have you ever been starstruck?
GREG: I was blessed with having a cool job as a Maître D in the showroom at a big resort and casino in Nevada. Being in the right place at the right time was huge and I met many stars over the course of 10 years. The one I remember the most was being alone in an elevator with Gary Busey. I was scared sh*tless.
AAG: What advice can you offer to a new actor regarding “the audition process”?
GREG: Relax, smile and be yourself while you are in the audition room. If they like you, they will like what you do. You may not get the part, but they will still like you.
AAG: What’s next for Greg Steele?
GREG: My plan is simple. I’m only here in this business because it’s fun. I will never retire. I love this kind of work so much that I am willing to do it for free. So it’s just a bonus when I get paid for doing it.
